OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY ~

Somewhere inside every well bred pointing dog is a natural ability just waiting to come out. Each dog is different and finding its natural ability and helping the dog develop into a well trained hunting companion takes patience, knowledge, consistency, and BIRDS,BIRDS, BIRDS.  At Dimond Alli Kennel, each dog is gently trained using proven methods for developing your dog into the best Gundog possible.  We recognize that each dog learns and accepts training differently, so we train each dog individually and taylor our training to match your dog.  While the training might differ from dog to dog, the outcome of a trained Gundog remains the same: Steady on point to flush, Whoa broke, whistle trained, comes when called, and retrieves downed birds.  How well your dog locates game and how well he looks doing it, is a matter of breeding, but being able to control him while he does what bird dogs do, is a matter of training, and that is what we do.
Without  a doubt, training is asking the dog to give up his self employed nature of hunting and cooperate with us to achieve a common goal. This can be done with as little force as possible. We  employ a gentle approach to training. We believe the dog will show you how to train it if you will read carefully between the lines. When people ask us how much force we will use in training their dog, our response is always the same, “Only as much force as is required to train the dog”.
